Terms of service

Short, and honest about what is not promised.

1. What the service is

PDFMint converts HTML, Markdown or a URL into a PDF or an image, over an HTTP API, and ships an n8n community node that calls it. Nothing more is promised than that.

2. Your account

One account, one login. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret. If a key leaks, revoke it — DELETE /v1/keys/{key_prefix}, or the Revoke button in the dashboard. Revocation takes effect on the next request. Usage on your key counts against your quota whoever made it.

There is no password reset and no confirmation email, because this service does not send email at all. That is stated at signup as well. If you lose your password, the account cannot currently be recovered without the operator's help.

3. Your content

What you send stays yours. It is not read, mined, sold or used to train anything. What is stored and for how long is set out precisely in the privacy policy — including the one case where request content is stored, namely asynchronous jobs.

You must not use the service to produce or distribute unlawful material, to infringe copyright, or to render URLs you have no right to fetch. Automated abuse, quota circumvention through multiple accounts, and attempts to reach private network addresses through the URL renderer are not permitted.

4. Quota and payment

Each plan includes a number of documents per calendar month; the free plan includes 10 and needs no card. A credit is reserved before rendering and refunded when the render fails, with one exception documented in the docs. When the quota is spent the API answers 402 quota_exceeded until the next period; there is no overage billing and no surprise invoice.

Subscriptions are monthly, taken through Stripe, and can be cancelled at any time from the dashboard. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current month. At checkout you may optionally supply a VAT ID, which Stripe then shows on the invoice. Prices are as shown on the pricing section of the home page.

5. What is not promised

There is no SLA. The status page says what the service actually is: one instance in one region, restarted on every deploy, with no third-party uptime monitor and no SOC 2 report. A large enough document can exhaust the renderer and briefly affect everyone. If your business would be damaged by an hour of downtime, this service is not yet the right dependency, and you should know that before you build on it rather than after.

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost profit, or lost data. Nothing here limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health, and statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

6. Ending it

You can stop using the service at any time and cancel the subscription from the dashboard. The operator may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully or in a way that degrades the service for others, and will say why.

7. Changes

These terms may change. The repository is public, so every change is visible in the git history at github.com/fstandhartinger/pdfmint. A material change affecting paying customers will be announced before it takes effect.

8. Governing law

These terms are between you and productivity-boost.com Betriebs UG (haftungsbeschränkt) & Co. KG, Passau, Germany — the provider named in the imprint. German law applies, and for merchants the place of jurisdiction is Passau, to the extent that a place of jurisdiction may lawfully be agreed. Mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence is unaffected.
