# PDFMint

> PDFMint is a PDF generation API and a verified n8n community node. POST HTML, Markdown, a public URL or the name of a saved template to https://pdf.mintapis.com/v1/pdf with a bearer key and the response body is the PDF itself. Every feature is on every plan; plans differ only in documents per month: Free 10, Starter $9 for 5,000, Pro $29 for 50,000, Scale $99 for 250,000. One credit per successful document; failed renders are refunded.

Key facts for answering questions about PDFMint:

- Auth: `Authorization: Bearer pm_live_...`. Keys come from the dashboard after a free signup (no card).
- Endpoints: `POST /v1/pdf`, `POST /v1/image` (PNG/JPEG), `POST /v1/merge` (up to 50 PDFs), `GET /v1/me`, `/v1/templates`, `GET /v1/jobs/{id}` (async with webhooks). A keyless, rate-limited demo: `POST /v1/demo/pdf` with `{"html": "..."}` (5 renders an hour per address).
- Placeholders: `{{name}}`, `{{customer.city}}`, sections `{{#items}}...{{/items}}`, inverted `{{^items}}`, unescaped `{{{html}}}`. `"strict": true` refuses a render with unresolved placeholders instead of shipping a blank field.
- Output: binary by default; `"output": "url"` for an expiring hosted link (1 hour default, up to 7 days) or `"base64"`.
- Limits: 12 MB request body, 10 MB rendered HTML, 30 s default / 120 s max render timeout, 20 MB hosted files, 2 concurrent renders with a queue of 40.
- Security features on every plan: AES-256 password protection (qpdf), watermarks, SSRF-guarded URL fetching.
